LGBT-Friendly Senior Services: An awareness-raising training for professionals

Senior service providers throughout the Capital Region are invited to register for a conference call Tele-Seminar, “LGBT-Friendly Senior Services: An awareness-raising training for professionals.” The Tele-Seminar will be held Thursday, March 8th at 2pm.

The featured presenter will be Curran Streett, MPH, Program Director, The Pride Center of the Capital Region. Service providers attending this training will gain Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) cultural competency, explore the unique experience of LGBT older adults and learn strategies to be an LGBT-affirming individual and organization.

Registration must be made in advance (by 3/1/12) by contacting Tianna Pettinger at 694-3511 or Provide all of your professional contact information at the time of registration (or complete the registration form: 2012 tele-seminar announcement-registration 3-8-12). Materials will be provided in advance of the Tele-Seminar. Multiple individuals from the same agency are encouraged to share one phone line for the conference call. Space is limited.

This training for senior service providers is a joint effort of The Pride Center of the Capital Region and Senior Services of Albany. This offering is made possible through the support of the Albany Rotary Club Foundation, United Way of the Greater Capital Region and the New York State Department of Health.
