Senior Services of Albany is an active participant in the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region’s Legacy Partnership Program.

Senior Services of Albany’s "Centurion Legacy Society" is a planned giving program designed to create an endowment fund that over time, will sustain the programs and services that address the needs of the elderly in our community for generations to come.

The exciting part of building an endowment is that anyone can participate. The Centurion Legacy Society provides the opportunity for everyone to create a personal legacy – no matter how great or small. Because the funds grow together, every gift is significant. In the words of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow “Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.”

We invite you to join us in becoming a member of the Centurion Legacy Society. Perhaps you have already made a planned gift or have been considering making a provision to support Senior Services of Albany in your estate plans. If so, we hope that you will share this information with us so that we can celebrate your commitment to our future. When you review your planned giving options with your financial advisors, you will likely find there are many additional legal and tax benefits to lending your support, in addition to the satisfaction that comes from sharing your good fortune in life with the community you leave behind.

Planned gifts provide the resources that create extraordinary opportunities and preserve our future.

The programs and services of Senior Services of Albany depend upon your goodwill.  To that end, there are a myriad of easy giving options from which you can choose – from naming us as a beneficiary in your will to a more complex trust arrangement.

We’ve created this easy-to-understand website to help you find the gift that’s right for you.  Here you can learn how to plan your gift to Senior Services of Albany.  We will tell you about creative giving strategies that enhance your, and your family’s well being and help us as well.

For instance, did you know that:

  • You don’t have to use cash to make your gift – donate appreciated securities instead.  The deduction is the same as for a cash gift, and you pay no capital gains tax on the transfer.

  • Give an asset that may help us more than it’s helping you – such as a life insurance policy whose coverage your family no longer needs, or real estate like a second home or a parcel of undeveloped land, or even a collection of books or artwork that you no longer have room to display.

  • You can make a gift that costs you nothing during your lifetime – name Senior Services of Albany as a beneficiary in your will or revocable trust, or your retirement plan.

  • You can make Senior Services of Albany a partner in your giving – you can deed us your home but continue to live there or you can sell us property at a charitable discount.

How do I start?

To find out your giving options, go to Gift Plans.  Discover the variety of funding choices and compare the plans to see which come closest to your needs at Goals & Benefits.
